Surrounded by nature parks & reserves, it only seemed right that about 30 percent of the land at Aureus be retained as natural land with a 4.6ha beachfront parkland among it. Planning for the extensive parkland & village centre is now well underway at Aureus.

Byron Bay-based Darren Taitoko from Landsite Landscape Architects is designing the parklands site, which will include what he describes as “a multi-generational playground encompassing a public art installation”. A favourite of Darren’s is the 90x70m open lawn area, that he’s hoping will be utilised for everything from ball games, to kit flying & picnics. The parklands will also comprise of shelters with picnic settings & barbeques, drinking fountains & plenty of seating. It’s of Darren’s view that the parklands should be “fun and inspirational for all ages”.

The village centre is to go hand & hand with the parklands & will grow in stages. Byron Bay-based architect, Harley Graham, is working with the Intrapac Property team on a possible gathering venue overlooking the ocean. “This would be one of very few dining options in the region with unobstructed ocean views”.

Lodgement of the development applications for both the parklands & stage one of the village centre is to take place in the first half on 2020, with draft plans being shared with the community prior to this.
